Wrestler Ravi Dahiya's fight to win a gold medal in wrestling today

TOKYO: Wrestler Ravi Dahiya today competed in the 5 kg weight class for India at the Olympics. In the class, he defeated Nurislam Sanayev of Kazakhstan in the semi-finals and entered the final. That means his silver medal is fixed. However, today he defeated Sanayev ‘Victory by Fall’. Sanayev was on his way to a decisive victory from 2-2 when his leg muscles were stretched. However, he continued the fight but Ravi Dahiya knocked him down with a double leg attack.

Ravi Dahiya's silver is fixed so he has become the second silver medal winning wrestler after Sushil Kumar (2012 Olympics). However, Indian fans are confident that they will face Russia's world champion Jiur Uguyev for the gold medal in the final at 4 pm tomorrow.

In wrestling only 5 kg. In the class, Deepak Punia will compete for the bronze medal. Anshu Malik also has a chance in women's wrestling. All the three results will be available tomorrow from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm.

India's Lovelina won the bronze medal in the women's welterweight boxing semi-finals after losing to Surmenelli of Turkey.

Argentina beat India 3-1 in the women's hockey semi-finals and now the Indian women's team will play to win bronze just like the men.

For India, Niraj Chopra is still hoping for medals in javelin throw as well as Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Fogat in wrestling.
