UP: Aligarh will now be renamed Harigarh, Mainpuri district will also be renamed

As soon as the power of the district panchayat is changed in UP, the exercise of changing the name has also started. The proposal to name Aligarh district as Harigarh has been passed. Along with this, a proposal to name Mainpuri after Mayan Rishi has been passed in the district panchayat.

In the meeting of the district panchayat, it was proposed to name Aligarh as Harigarh. Which has also been passed unanimously. At the same time, Mainpuri District Panchayat has also passed a proposal to change the name of the district.

At a meeting of the District Panchayat Board in Aligarh, Kehri Singh and Umesh Yadav proposed to change the name of Aligarh to Harigarh, which was passed unanimously by all the members.

In Mainpuri also, the members of the district panchayat proposed to name Mainpuri as Mayan Nagar as it is the abode of Mayan sage. The renaming of Mainpuri during the meeting was also opposed by some district panchayat members. However, after the members of the district panchayat got a majority, the district panchayat chairman passed a proposal to rename Mainpuri as Mayan Nagar.

The proposals passed in the district panchayat will now be sent to the government, where a decision will be taken whether to change the name or not.
