UN warns of famine in Afghanistan

The head of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Afghanistan has said that the Taliban regime in the country has created a humanitarian crisis that has left more than 12 million people in a state of starvation. Amidst the conflict in Afghanistan, the country is facing another devastating drought in the last three years and the Corona epidemic has had a serious impact on the social and economic situation, said Mary Allen McGroarty, director of the World Food Program. Drought has destroyed 90 percent of the crops and thousands of people have lost their livelihoods. Millions have been displaced by the Taliban insurgency. McGraw-Hill said Afghanistan needed કરોડ 500 million in donations.
