In the Rajya Sabha, a video of a scuffle between MPs and marshals went viral, with the opposition blaming the marshals. Demonstrations were held by the opposition on Thursday to protest the early completion of the monsoon session and the misconduct by lawmakers with the marshals.

Eleven leaders of the Opposition, including the Congress, met outside Parliament on Thursday and marched to Vijay Chowk in protest of the Center. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and several other opposition leaders also met Rajya Sabha Speaker Venkaiah Naidu after the protest march. He met Naidu on Wednesday to complain about the mistreatment of MPs by the marshals.


The opposition alleged that outsiders who were not under the protection of Parliament were called in to fight with opposition leaders and members, including women MPs. The opposition said in a joint statement that outsiders had mistreated opposition leaders and members without any provocation. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said the Opposition was not given a chance to present its views in Parliament. The incident against a woman MP on Wednesday is against democracy. The central government, on the other hand, also denied all the allegations. The Union Ministers held a press conference and apologized to the Opposition for the obstruction in Parliament. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi dismissed the opposition's allegations as completely false, saying the facts were clear in the CCTV footage. Rejecting the opposition's allegation that outsiders had come to the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said the Opposition was responsible for the uproar in the House on Wednesday. No one outside was allowed into the house. There were a total of 17 marshals in the house, including 15 women marshals. The allegations of the opposition are false and their appearances are a ‘drama’.
