Investors' wealth is Rs. 1.79 lakh crore to Rs. 243.73 lakh crore

AHMEDABAD: The BSE Sensex rose 175 points to close at 56,000 for the first time today on the back of fresh fund-led gains on the back of favorable global reports.

China's decision to release 1.50 lakh tonnes of metal from its reserves, as well as signs of continued stimulus in the US, had a positive impact on the market, with the new Sensex gaining 175.62 points to close at a record high of 56,124.72.

At the NSE, the new Nifty rose intraday to a new high of 16722, up 68.30 points to close at 16705.20. Investors' wealth (BSE market cap) rose to Rs. 1.79 lakh crore to Rs. 243.73 lakh crore.
