Petroleum companies have increased the price of cooking gas. The price of unsubsidised domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs. After the hike, the price of a 14.5-kg domestic cylinder in Delhi has gone up to Rs 2.50. The new increased prices came into effect from midnight on Monday.

In Kolkata, the price of a 12.5 kg LPG cylinder has gone up to Rs 3, in Mumbai to Rs 2.50 and in Lucknow to Rs 2.50. Similarly, the price of 15 kg commercial cylinder has also been increased by Rs. In Delhi, the price of this cylinder has gone up to Rs 1,215.

Oil companies review cooking gas prices on the first and fifteenth of each month. Earlier, on July 1, the price of an LPG cylinder was hiked by Rs 3.

The central government is facing heavy criticism over rising petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices. However, the government says the increase is due to rising international crude and gas prices. The government is making efforts to end the subsidy in LPG cylinders.
