Telecom companies will not raise tariffs in the short term: experts

New Delhi: Telecom companies are unlikely to raise mobile tariffs in the short term, experts said. However, according to experts, telecom companies may increase tariffs modestly.

At present, as telecom companies seek to increase their market share, they are unlikely to raise tariffs significantly. Although telecom companies are currently facing many challenges, they will not increase tariffs on a large scale as experts believe that competition between telecom companies is very high.

Telecom companies are currently focusing on broadband and FiveG. Experts believe that the revenue of telecom companies will increase after the launch of FiveG. Telecom companies are now focusing on the education and health sectors in view of the potential for more use of the Internet in the near future.

Meanwhile, the Cellular Operators Association of India has demanded a tax cut from the government. According to COAI, 32 per cent of their income comes from paying taxes.
