Subsidy on cooking gas bottle has not stopped: Surprise response from Center

New Delhi, Dt

The subsidy given by the central government on cooking gas (LPG) in the country has been discontinued for a long time. Therefore, most people believe that the central government has stopped subsidizing LPG. However, responding to a Delhi customer on Twitter, the government on Friday said that the subsidy on bottles of cooking gas (LPG) is still the same as before.

The official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas' e-service facility @MoPNG e-Seva L. Sharma questioned the government, "I want to know once again whether the central government has abolished the subsidy on LPG, as not a single penny of subsidy has been credited to my bank account in the last 12 months, while for a legal Rs 5 cylinder on a gas agency voucher." Writes subsidized cylinders. ' In addition to asking questions of the government on Twitter, he also shared the gas agency's outreach on the Twitter handle.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Sharma replied on Twitter. The ministry, responding to Sharma on its official Twitter handle oMoPNG e-Seva, said the central government has not abolished the subsidy on LPG. Subsidies on domestic cooking gas bottles are still given. They vary in different markets. The central government currently subsidizes 15 cylinders of cooking gas a year. Consumers who do not get LPG cylinder subsidy can complain on the ministry's e-service Twitter handle. In addition, the central government has set up a central customer care wing to address people's grievances on LPG related issues. Gas cylinder companies also have their own grievance redressal system. Consumers can also complain about it.
