PM Modi discusses situation in Afghanistan with Putin

Amid global concerns over the deteriorating security situation of civilians in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday had a detailed discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the situation in Afghanistan as well as the world situation. The PMO said the two leaders discussed "terrorist ideology" and the dangers of drugs from Afghanistan. In addition, the two countries agreed to establish a permanent bilateral channel to discuss global issues. Along with this, Prime Minister Modi also discussed the issue of enhancing India-Russia bilateral relations as well as cooperation on Korona. The Russian embassy said the two leaders stressed the importance of joint efforts to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan and Asia.
