Pegasus espionage must be investigated to bring out the truth: Nitish

BJP's allies also joined the opposition's demand

It also claims that action needs to be taken to ensure that no one is harassed by phone tapping in the future

New Delhi: Pegasus espionage controversy is raging. Now the BJP's own allies are demanding an inquiry into the whole matter. JD (U) leader in Bihar's NDA and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also demanded an inquiry into the Pegasus spy case.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar had expressed concern over the matter but has now demanded an inquiry. When the Bihar Chief Minister was asked whether the matter should be investigated, he said it should be done. Telephone tapping has been around for a long time. It must also be investigated. It should also be discussed.

Nitish Kumar said that an investigation is needed to bring out whatever the truth is. So that no one will be tapping the phone in this way to harass anyone in the future. Asked whether the matter should be investigated by a parliamentary committee, Kumar said it was an internal matter of Parliament but the government had responded.

Notably, Pegasus came across reports of phone tapping of several major Indian politicians through spyware. The matter has caused a stir in Parliament and the Opposition is demanding an inquiry under the auspices of the Supreme Court. Now Nitish Kumar has also joined the demand for an inquiry.
