New York governor convicted of sexual harassment, yet refuses to resign

The state attorney general's report said Andrew Cuomo had broken the law and done things he did not want to do to maintain the dignity of his position. After being convicted in a five-month investigation, Cuomo has flatly refused to resign, despite pressure from the US Congress, including President Biden, to resign as governor of New York.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kristen Gilbrand have also pushed Andrew Cuomo to resign as governor.

The state assembly leader said Kuomon could not remain governor. They could also take impeachment proceedings against Kuomo. Despite intense pressure to resign, 9-year-old Andrew Cuomo has tried to defend himself by denying the allegations in a video statement. He said that the reality is very different from the current picture. He never touched anyone with bad intentions or inappropriate sexual harassment. Cuomo called the investigation against him politically motivated and discriminatory.

This is Andrew Cuomo's third term as governor. He has been in this position continuously since 2011. Andrew Cuomo is a senior leader of the Democratic Party. At one point he was also seen as a potential president. The investigation report said that the atmosphere in the governor's office was not conducive to work. Not only that, the first woman to publicly allege sexual harassment was also prosecuted out of revenge. Cuomo has been charged with malicious touching, teasing and kissing several women.

The report, released by New York Attorney General Letitia James' office, details Kuomo's behavior. It said Kuomo was touching women with bad intentions. Apart from this, he is also accused of kissing women and making indecent remarks. According to reports, Kuomo spoke for 15 minutes and most of the time he avoided saying anything about these matters. One thing is clear, Kuomo plans to continue in office and deny allegations of sexual harassment. The governor said he would hire a sexual harassment specialist to train his staff.
