Agra: In some parts of western Uttar Pradesh, people are scared of a mysterious viral disease. People are dying due to fever. Agra, Firozabad, in the last one week, according to official figures from the health department. More than 50 deaths in Mathura, Mainpuri, Eta and Kasganj districts have been due to fever, dehydration, sudden drop in platelet count.

According to health officials, cases of viral fever have also been reported from eastern Uttar Pradesh. Gonda, Basti, Deoria, Ballia, Azamgarh, Sultanpur. People in Jaunpur and Ghazipur are getting viral.

However, the highest incidence of the disease is in the districts of western Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, patients in Rajasthan and some districts of Madhya Pradesh are also facing the disease.

According to AK Singh, additional director of the health department, there were very few cases of viral fever last year as people were staying at home and focusing more on hygiene.
