Kerala, dated 17 August 2021, Tuesday

The Kerala High Court has given a landmark verdict in the Sabarimala temple case in Kerala. According to which girls below 10 years of age are allowed to enter the temple with their father.

In this case, a 9-year-old girl had filed a petition in the court in which she appealed to the court to allow me to go to Sabarimala temple with my father on August 23. He wants to go to Sabarimala before he turns 10, the prosecutor said. Because after that he could not go to the temple for more than four decades.

"We are of the view that the petitioner should be allowed to have a darshan with his father and an interim order should be issued for that," the court said.

It is worth mentioning that for this 800 year old temple, it is believed that Lord Ayyappa is a celibate and that is why young women are not allowed here.
