Thiruvananthapuram, Ta. Sunday 8 August 2021

In Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa may have lost the CM post but his reputation in politics is intact. For the same reason, after stepping down as CM and not holding any official position, he will continue to get all the facilities that a state cabinet minister gets in Karnataka.

The facilities available to the state cabinet minister and the protocol followed for him have been extended for CM Yeddyurappa. This has been informed by an order issued by the Karnataka government.

On July 26, BS Yeddyurappa resigned as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. He resigned when two years of BJP government in Karnataka came to an end. Announcing his resignation, BS Yeddyurappa said he had a lot of work to do for the people of Karnataka. We should all work hard. Emotional BS Yeddyurappa said he has always gone through the ordeal.

After the resignation of BS Yeddyurappa, the province was handed over to Basavaraj Bommai. He is the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. Basavaraj Bommai, who started his political career with the Janata Dal, has been the Home Minister in the Yeddyurappa government and is considered very close to him.

On August 7, Basavaraj Bommai handed over his ministry to 29 ministers in the cabinet. CM Bommai has retained the finance ministry while Araga Janendra has been given charge of the home ministry. BJP's core MLAs have found a prominent place in the Bombay cabinet.
