High alert in Delhi: IGI threatens to blow up airport, Al Qaeda sends email to police

Al Qaeda has threatened to blow up the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Delhi Police received an email in the name of Al Qaeda on Saturday evening. It threatened to blow up the IGI airport in the next few days. Airport security has been beefed up following the threat.

"Karanbir Suri alias Mohammad Jalal and his wife Shaili Shara alias Hussain are coming to India from Singapore on Sunday," the email said. They are plotting to plant a bomb at the airport in the next one to three days. Security agencies have been alerted and security has been beefed up following the threat.

Regarding the investigation, the DIG said that earlier also threatening messages with the same names and the same description were received. Earlier, Karanbir and Shaili were shown as agents of ISIS. It also said that the two were coming and would conspire to detonate a bomb at the airport in one to three days.

Earlier on April 18, there was a sensation at the Delhi airport when a plane was threatened with a bomb. A passenger on a flight from Bengaluru to Delhi received a letter from the washroom threatening to blow up the plane as soon as it reached Delhi airport.
