According to Wang Yang, a top Chinese official, Tibetans need to make every effort to speak and write Chinese. He also said that Tibetans need to share cultural symbols and images associated with the Chinese nation.

Wang made the remarks on the 70th anniversary of the Chinese invasion of Lhasa's Potala Palace, home to Buddhist leaders. Critics say China's imposition of its own culture in Tibet could lead to the collapse of traditional Buddhist culture. China has condemned the plan, calling the exiled Dalai Lama a separatist leader, highlighting its efforts to boost the Tibetan economy.

Wang, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and overseeing policy towards sexual minorities, said the activities of the Dalai Lama and his followers have been crushed. Since 1951, Tibet has moved from darkness to light.

China maintained a regionalist policy

China has maintained its regionalist policy in Tibet. It is sending people there for jobs in the hinterland of the country and also forcing them to learn Chinese Mandarin. In front of the Dalai Lama's native Potala Palace, a Chinese official said that the Lama's uprising failed in 1959 and he fled to India. Now Tibet is developing properly.
