Despite the whip, Modi was annoyed by the absence of party MPs

New Delhi, Dt

At a meeting of the BJP parliamentary party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the absence of party MPs in the Rajya Sabha. Sources said the Prime Minister had asked for the names of the MPs who were absent from the House. The BJP had given a whip to its MPs to be present in the House on Tuesday and Wednesday at a time when the government is passing several bills amid heavy opposition in the Rajya Sabha. However, some MPs were not present when important bills were passed in the House. With this, the meeting of the BJP parliamentary party is over. The parliamentary party meeting discussed for the first time in history that India had won the most medals in the Olympic Games. All the MPs congratulated the medal winning athletes. Prime Minister Modi told the MPs that the MPs should promote the players in their constituencies. He also asked the MPs to hold a 'healthy beta-beti competition' in their constituencies as the government is celebrating its 7th anniversary of independence and to launch a campaign to ensure that no poor family survives without the Ayushman Bharat Golden Card.
