C-17 Globemaster arrives in Kabul to airlift Indians stranded in Afghanistan

Kabul, Monday 16 August 2021

Thousands of people have fled to other countries to seek refuge in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban. Other countries, including India and the United States, have begun to repatriate their captives. Has reached Kabul.

The aircraft will airlift about 500 Indian officials and security personnel stranded in Afghanistan.

The C-17 Globemaster plane landed in Tajikistan on Monday morning, in fact there was a commotion at Kabul airport, although the plane was able to land in Kabul only after US security forces took control of the situation here.

Earlier, a high-level meeting was held in Delhi to discuss the options and future course of action for the Indian embassy and staff living here, while Indian forces are discussing with officials in Afghanistan so that they can come to the airport to fly to India.

It may be mentioned here that other countries of the world like USA, Britain, France and New Zealand have also sent special planes to Afghanistan to bring back their citizens.
