Bodies came out again on the ghat in Prayagraj: more than 50 funerals were held

Prayagraj: In the confluence city Prayagraj, once again the bodies buried on the Ganga Ghat of Fafamu have started coming out. More than 50 such bodies were cremated on Friday.

Due to the floods in the Ganges, the employees of the Municipal Corporation had to face great difficulties in burying the corpses. The floodwaters had to be brought by boat. Municipal zonal officers are burying the bodies outside with their team.

Municipal zonal officer Neeraj Singh, like his family, is burying the unclaimed bodies and cremating them. In the second wave of Corona, many corpses were buried in the sand at Fafamu Ghat and the corpses that were coming out of the sand were being cremated so that the corpses would not flow into the Ganges. At that time the funeral had to be stopped due to rising water level in the Ganges, but today the same situation is being witnessed again.

Neeraj Singh himself is performing cremation and cremation of these corpses according to Hindu rites. He also gives them a facelift. So far, he has cremated more than 300 unclaimed corpses. The process of honoring the unclaimed corpses has started from June 4. The Municipal Corporation has formed a committee for this and it is monitoring that the corpse does not flow into the river. About one hundred and fifty corpses had been cremated between June 4 and the end of June.
