Mumbai, 1 August 2021 Sunday
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday launched an indirect attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying "threatening language will not be tolerated and those who speak such language will be given appropriate reprimands." He made the statement following remarks by BJP MLA Prasad Lad, who said that if necessary, the Shiv Sena Bhavan, the headquarters of the Thackeray-led party in central Mumbai, would be demolished. However, he later withdrew his comment and said he regretted that the media had misrepresented him.
Addressing the inaugural function of the BDD move redevelopment project here, Thackeray termed his three-party Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government as a "triple seat" government. Apart from Shiv Sena, the government includes the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress. Recalling the dialogue from the Hindi film "Dabangg" on "Slap not afraid", the Chief Minister said, "No one should speak slapping language to us because we will slap him so hard that the other person cannot stand on his feet."
