Afghanistan: Rocket attack on Kandahar airport, clashes between army and Taliban continue

A rocket attack has hit Kandahar airport in Afghanistan. The Taliban are said to have carried out three rocket attacks on the airport. After which all flights have been canceled.

Clashes between the Afghan army and the Taliban have continued since US troops withdrew from Afghanistan. The Taliban have stepped up attacks over the past few days. The Taliban are now trying to capture Kandahar, which is still largely under the control of the Afghan army.

Kandahar airport officials have confirmed the rocket attack. The airport chief said at least three rockets were fired at Kandahar airport in southern Afghanistan. All flights from the airport have been canceled following the attack.

Taliban in an attempt to capture Kandahar

Kandahar is still under the control of the Afghan government but the Taliban is rapidly gaining ground here. Kandahar is one of the important cities of Afghanistan. The Taliban have stepped up attacks here over the past few days. Rocket attacks are happening. Innocent people are being killed. The situation is that people are forced to leave their homes and live in refugee camps.
