A woman who went to a temple in Bihar for worship was beaten by a priest

A woman devotee has been beaten to death in a temple in Bihar's Darbhanga, a video of which has gone viral on social media. The priest, who is accused of beating a female devotee, has been sacked by the temple authorities and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.

In this incident which took place in the same fortnight, it happened that a woman named Maa Shyama, who was living in the Raj premises, went to worship at the Mai temple. The doors of the temple were closed to the public due to Koro’s guides.

The woman stubbornly went inside the temple to worship. The woman clashed with the temple priest on the same issue. The priest first insulted the woman, then grabbed her by the hair and killed her.

When the woman protested the priest's misconduct, the priest pushed her out of the temple precincts. The people who gathered there downloaded a video of the incident which was 'shared' on social media.
