10 killed, 20 injured in 10 explosions in Kazakhstan's military arsenal

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a Kabul airport in Afghanistan. A bomb blast near the southern city of Kazakhstan has killed at least six people and injured more than 40 others. According to the defense ministry, there were 10 explosions at the military arsenal. Following the incident, Defense Minister Nurlan Yermakbayev offered his resignation.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a military base in the southern province of Jambil, according to the defense ministry. The blast was so horrific that scenes of a firestorm were created. The fire soon spread to nearby storage, where several important items were kept.

The ministry initially said there had been three blasts. But other reports put the death toll at more than 10. A video of the blasts has also surfaced. The video shows the fire spreading like a storm. According to preliminary information, a total of nine people, including four soldiers, were killed in the blast. The blasts damaged army and relief workers.

After the blast, local authorities evacuated people living around the military base. As a result, an estimated 1,000 people had to leave their homes temporarily. Apart from this, the railway line was also closed. The cause of the explosion was not immediately known. However, Defense Minister Nurlan Yermakbayev has offered to resign.
