BS Yeddyurappa finally resigned as Karnataka Chief Minister. Yeddyurappa announced his resignation as chief minister after counting the government's achievements in the last two years in the assembly. He also said to be active in the politics of Karnataka.
It was two years since the BJP government was formed in Karnataka. Yeddyurappa hailed the achievements of his tenure as Chief Minister in the Assembly. "I have decided to resign as chief minister," he said at the time. During my tenure, I have always had to undergo ordeal.
Yeddyurappa tearfully announced his resignation in the Assembly, adding: "When Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Prime Minister, he proposed me to be the Union Minister, but I chose to remain active in Karnataka in the interest of the state." "I have not had the opportunity to work as I expected in the last two years," Yeddyurappa said emotionally. Many developmental works in the state have come to a standstill as everything has come to a standstill due to Corona.
After addressing the assembly, Yeddyurappa met the governor and resigned. The governor had accepted Yeddyurappa's resignation. After Yeddyurappa's resignation was officially announced, his supporters staged demonstrations against his resignation. In particular, people from the Lingayat community staged protests. Yeddyurappa comes from the Lingayat community and Yeddyurappa is a strong leader of this community. He has a strong grip on the community.
Earlier, BS Yeddyurappa had gone to Delhi and held talks with high command leaders. Rumors of his resignation have been circulating ever since. Yeddyurappa himself then hinted at stepping down as chief minister. However, Yeddyurappa's statement that he was active in Karnataka politics when he announced his resignation did not rule out the possibility of new equations being formed in the coming days.
