Who will get the Chief Minister's chair in Karnataka?

Bangalore, Ta. 26

Yeddyurappa has resigned on the orders of the BJP high command, two years after BS Yeddyurappa's government in Karnataka. Because of this, the debate on who will get the Chief Minister's chair in Karnataka has gained momentum. According to reports, the current situation in Karnataka was discussed between BJP president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh.
The next chief minister was discussed at the meeting. Before the new name is announced this weekend, a team of BJP observers will travel to Karnataka to get the views of local leaders. A decision will be made on that basis. However, three names are currently being discussed. Coming from the Lingayat community, Basavaraj Bommai is considered to be the strongest contender. He is currently the Home Minister in the Karnataka government and is backed by a number of MLAs. Another name is Visvesvara Hegde. This Brahmin leader is the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The third name is also that of Prahlad Joshi. Prahlad Joshi is currently the Union Minister and Parliamentary Affairs Minister.
BJP national general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh said the name has not been decided yet. Members of the BJP's parliamentary board will decide the name of the next chief minister of Karnataka.
