Vaccinating children without a trial would be a disaster

Urges Delhi High Court

The country is waiting for the children to be vaccinated, an order to start giving as soon as the trial is over

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has said that vaccinating children without testing would be a major disaster. At the same time, the central government has said that children under the age of 18 need to be vaccinated immediately.

In a later reply, the Center had told the Delhi High Court that a trial for the vaccine under the age of 18 was underway and a policy for vaccination would be worked out after getting the permission of experts.

The High Court later said that letting the trial go first, vaccinating without a trial could be a disaster for children. As soon as the trial is over, vaccination of children should be started as the whole country is waiting. The Center said that on May 12, Bharat Biotech was given a clinical trial of the vaccine by the Drug Controller General of India.
