The monsoon will arrive in northern India in 15 years

After July 10, including Delhi. Rainfall forecast in India

The monsoon started in Delhi on July 26, 1987, July 19, 2002 and July 9, 2006.

New Delhi: The arrival of monsoon is going to be very late this year. According to the meteorological department, the monsoon in northern India will start after July 10, the longest monsoon in the last 15 years. This could have a major impact on the agricultural sector and further worsen the situation of farmers who are already facing many problems.

A statement issued by the Indian Meteorological Department said that monsoon is likely to arrive in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and parts of Rajasthan after July 10. The northeast is also likely to have a rainy weather after the 10th.

This means that the monsoon is likely to arrive in most of the states in Central and Northeast India by the end of this week. IMD head Kuldeep Srivastava said the monsoon arrived in Delhi on July 7, 2012, before it started on July 9, 2006. The monsoon arrived on July 19, 2002, with the earliest being July 26, 1987.

So a 15-year record could be broken this year for the late arrival of the monsoon. The monsoon in Kerala usually starts in the first week of June, after which it spreads across the country by the end of June. However, it is getting too late this year. The monsoon in Delhi usually lasts till June 27.
