The IIT alumnus climbed Everest the week after recovering from Corona


IIT also hoisted the tricolor on Everest

Niraj Chaudhary, 37, tested positive on March 27, returned to Kathmandu in April and climbed Everest on May 31.

New Delhi: When Niraj Chaudhary reached Kathmandu to climb Mount Everest, his Corona report came back positive that day. However, within seven weeks he recovered and reached Kathmandu to climb Mount Everest again. This time they managed to climb Mount Everest. He also hoisted the IIT flag along with the tricolor after climbing Mount Everest.

While the country was fighting the second wave of Corona, Chaudhary's family in Rajasthan was waiting for Niraj Chaudhary's phone call. Chaudhary, 37, earned his MTech degree in Environmental and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi during 2009-11.

He is currently working in the Water Resources Department of the Government of Rajasthan. Chaudhary started mountaineering in 2014. In the year 2020, Chaudhry was appointed as a member of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) Everest Expedition. The appointment was made under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

However the trip was canceled due to the Corona epidemic. Even this year, amid heavy uncertainty, Chaudhary arrived in Kathmandu to fight with his team. However all the corona were tested before starting the climb. "I had to return to Jaipur after my test came positive," Chaudhary said.
