The Bengaluru-based company's survey found unaccounted revenue of Rs 880 crore



New Delhi: The Income-tax department has found hidden income of Rs 880 crore in a survey of the complex of leading manpower service providers, the CBDT said on Tuesday. The identity of this company is not yet known.

The survey was conducted on July 8 in two complexes of the company. The taxpayer has claimed massive tax deduction under Section 80 JJAA of the Income Tax Act 1961, such incentives are given for special types of employment creation. This should include an employee's income less than Rs 25,000 per month and number of working days.

A statement issued by the CBDT said the survey found unaccounted income of Rs 880 crore spread over various assessment years. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) formulates policy for the income tax department.

He said that when the income tax officials visited the taxpayer's business complex in the survey operation, they found that the taxpayer had also wrongly obtained tax deduction under Section 80 JJAA even for the newly added employees earning more than Rs 25,000. The CBDT claimed that the deduction under Section 80 JJAA was made in the following years. While some qualified employees were not even on taxpayer parole.
