New cases of corona below 40 thousand, positivity rate 10 percent in 47 districts


Active cases dropped to close to 4.21 lakh

More than 41 crore doses of corona vaccine given, states still have 2.5 crore doses, claims Center

New Delhi: On the one hand, the daily cases of corona in the country are declining drastically. On the other hand, there are districts where cases are on the rise. A list of about 47 such districts has been prepared where the positivity rate is more than 10 per cent.

Corona's new cases, on the other hand, have been below 40,000 in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Sikkim have four of the 47 districts in the state which have a weekly positivity rate of more than 10 per cent. It includes two districts in Assam, Tripura and seven districts in Kerala.

It also includes one each in Maharashtra and Puducherry, nine in Manipur, three in Meghalaya, five in Rajasthan and five in Nagaland. While there are 54 districts where the weekly positivity rate is between five to 10 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 38,000 new cases of corona have been reported while 499 more have been killed. At the same time, the total death toll has risen to over 4.14 lakh.

On the other hand, the number of active cases stood at 4.21 lakh, which is 1.35 per cent of the total cases. Corona's recovery rate has risen to 97.32 percent. A total of more than 1.4 million corona tests were performed on Sunday. The Center said that the states have 2.60 lakh doses of vaccine available while a total of more than 42 crore doses of vaccine have been given in the country so far. So India has the second highest number of vaccines after China.
