A procession of Lord Jagannathji is taking place on Monday at Puri in Odisha and Ahmedabad in Gujarat between the Koro period. Due to the Koro crisis, the devotees were not allowed to join the pilgrimage this time as well. Only people associated with the temple premises and a few others are allowed to join the rathyatra.
The rath yatra was started in Ahmedabad on Monday morning. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani cleaned the chariot of Lord Jagannath with a gold broom. A curfew has been imposed on the route of the rath yatra in Ahmedabad. The entire route of Jagannath Rathyatra in Ahmedabad is about 13 km. The pilgrimage usually takes 10 hours to complete but the rathyatra can be completed in 4-5 hours as devotees are not allowed to be present during the Kovid period.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also present in Ahmedabad. Amit Shah participated in the Mangala Aarti on Monday morning. Amit Shah was present with his family during Aarti at 4:00 am and he worshiped Lord Jagannath.
