India's talented youth are moving to Canada because of America's old immigration policy

Due to the old H-1B visa policy, a large number of talented Indian citizens are now going to Canada instead of the United States. Immigration and policy experts have told American lawmakers.

Experts said on Tuesday that this was due to different quotas for issuing employment-based green cards and permanent residency letters. He appealed to American lawmakers to take immediate action to stop India's talented people from going to Canada.

Stuart Aderson, executive director of the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP), said the number of Indians waiting for visas in all three employment-based categories would increase from 5,13,8 to 21,8,9 by 2020 due to parliamentary action.

"We must take steps to reduce the number," he said. Andersen further said that highly talented individuals, including foreign students, are choosing to go to Canada rather than the United States. This is because it has become difficult to get H-1B and permanent visas in the United States.

According to a survey conducted by NFAP, the number of Indian students enrolled in computer science and engineering in American universities has declined by 3% between 2016-17 and 2017-18. He further said that Canada's policies are better than those of the United States in inviting talented foreign nationals.

In 2016, 206 Indian students took admission in Canadian colleges, which increased to 1,2,8 in 2016.
