In Canada, Rs. Indian arrested for smuggling 112.5 kg of cocaine worth Rs 104 crore

A 6-year-old Indian-origin youth has been arrested in Canada for smuggling 112.5 kg of cocaine from the United States to Canada. According to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), cocaine smuggled to Indian-origin youth is valued at ૪ 12 million (approximately Rs 104 crore).

The smuggled cocaine was seized last month. Pradeep Singh, a resident of Quebec, drove a commercial truck into the Peace Bridge in Ontario, Canada. At that time, the police stopped Pradeep Singh to check the truck.

Five bags of cocaine were found in the truck during the investigation, the agency said in a statement. A total of 114.5 kg of cocaine was recovered from the five bags. The seized cocaine is valued at ૪ 12 million.

CBSA District Director Kim Apere praised Canadian police for seizing such a large amount of cocaine. “Our officers prevented attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics,” he said.

Vehicles carrying non-essential items were banned in view of the Corona epidemic. Only vehicles carrying essential items were allowed. The ban on vehicles carrying non-essential items will remain in force till July 31.
