Corona drug hoarding: Steno denies Supreme's serious foundation

Your MLA Praveen Kumar is also guilty on the same issue, action will be taken: Supreme Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has refused to stay proceedings against the foundation of BJP MP Gautam Gambhir in a case related to illegal purchase and distribution of Corona drugs.

Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice M.R. A bench comprising Shah said that in a situation where people were scrambling for medicines in the difficult times of Corona, a trust suddenly appeared and promised to provide medicine to all.

This did not happen. "We do not want to say anything, but we are also keeping our ears on the ground," the bench said.

The foundation, which had approached the apex court seeking stay under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act against the complaint against it, withdrew the application after seeing the unfavorable attitude of the bench. Earlier, the Delhi government's drug director had told the Delhi High Court that the Gautam Gambhir Foundation was found guilty of illegally purchasing and stocking a drug called Fabiflu and distributing it to Corona patients.

Your MLA Praveen Kumar has also been found guilty of similar offenses under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Action will also be taken against him, the court was told.

A public interest litigation was being heard in the High Court seeking registration of prima facie offenses on the issue of allegations that politicians could buy and distribute large quantities of the drug while patients were killing Hawatis for corona.
