China's gaze on 'chicken neck', attempt to provoke Myanmar against India

CDS General Bipin Rawat's warning

India needs to keep an eye on Chinese infiltration into Myanmar as military loses power: Rawat

New Delhi: After Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal, China is now gearing up to strengthen its hold in Myanmar. China has adopted this strategy to encircle India through most of the countries in Asia. This information was given by Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat.

General Bipin Rawat also said that China was taking more interest in Myanmar after the coup d'etat and that in line with its strategy, China was now infiltrating Myanmar and trying to occupy it. In doing so, China is preparing to make Myanmar anti-India.

So India now needs to keep a very close eye on this whole situation. Rawat said China's important BRI (Belt and Road Initiative) would gain more strength amid sanctions on Myanmar. Given the current situation, it is very important for the people of Myanmar that Myanmar returns as before and the end of military rule.

Because India has years old relationship with Myanmar. Expressing another concern, he also said that the northeastern region of India i.e. Siliguri Corridor is connected to the rest of the country by a chicken neck. China has its eye on the area and so India needs to be vigilant there as well.
