The second wave of corona has slowed down in a few days. However, even after witnessing the ordeal of the first and second wave, people have started showing negligence. Tourists in several states, including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, are seen violating the Kovid protocol. In Teva, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla reviewed the steps taken by the state governments to curb the spread of Kovid-19 at hill stations and tourist spots. The Center has asked the states to follow the 5 fold strategy associated with Corona.

During the meeting, corona management and vaccination status in Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and West Bengal were discussed.

The Union Home Secretary spoke on media reports of violations of Kovid protocols in hill stations and other tourist destinations and also asked the states to be vigilant. At the same time, he stressed that the second wave of Corona is not over yet. States should also ensure strict adherence to mask wearing, social distance and other prescribed protocols, he said.

Many states have a positivity rate of more than 10 per cent

According to the central government, the decline in the second wave of corona in different states appears to be at a variable stage. On the one hand, the overall positivity rate is declining, while in Rajasthan, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the positivity rate is over 10 per cent, which is a cause for concern.

Asked to follow 5 fold strategy

The government has asked the states to follow the Five Fold Strategy - Test, Track, Treat, Vaccinate and Covid Appropriate Behavior. The Home Ministry also issued an order in this regard on June 29. It is also advisable to prepare adequate framework in the health sector to cope with the growth of potential cases.
