Census by caste: Demand for RJD-JD (U)

Opposing parties united on the issue of census

Patna: In Bihar, rival JD (U) and RJD have come together on the issue of conducting census on the basis of caste. And appealed to the central government to make the census caste-based. However, the Center has earlier rejected the demand. Nitish Kumar tweeted, "We believe that the census should be based on caste."

The Bihar Legislative Assembly passed a proposal to conduct a unanimous caste-based census in 2019 and for the second time in 2020. Which was later sent to the Central Government. The central government should reconsider the caste-based census.

Earlier, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav had made a similar demand. Tejaswi Yadav said that our organization has fought a long battle for caste based census and will continue to do so.

Because the caste-based census is associated with 65 per cent of the country's people who are deprived, oppressed class. Following his tweet, Nitish Kumar also joined in and demanded a caste-based census from the Center.
