The UK Home Office has launched its new post-study work visa for international students. Under this visa, students graduating in the UK from countries including India will be able to apply for a visa to stay in the UK to gain job experience at the end of their course.

Last year, Britain's Home Secretary Preity Patel announced a graduate route visa. Applications for this visa have begun to be accepted and Indian students will benefit from this visa.

The new Post Study Work (PSW) visa in the UK will benefit Indian students. Over the last few years Indian students have been one of the largest group of international students to be admitted to British universities.

Foreign students obtaining a PSW visa can work or find a job in the UK for up to two years after completing their studies. The visas were introduced last year by Britain's Home Secretary Preeti Patel.

Last year, 3,000 Indian students were issued student visas. Which is 15% more than the previous year. In order to obtain this visa, foreign students must have a valid higher education degree from the UK.

The deadline for qualifying for a new post-study work (PSW) visa in the UK was recently extended to September 6, 2021.

The National Union of Indian Students and Alumni (NISU), UK has been demanding an extension for some time.
