Basavaraj Bommai replaces Yeddyurappa as Karnataka's new chief minister

Karnataka will be ruled by new Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai from today. Basavaraj Bommai was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state at 11:00 am on Wednesday. Currently, only Bombay has been sworn in, which means the cabinet will be expanded later.

Bommai started his day before taking oath by visiting the Anjaneya temple near Balabrui Guest House with some leaders and taking the blessings of God. Apart from that even in Raj Bhavan when he was going on stage to take oath he said B.S. Took the blessings of Yeddyurappa.

B.S. in Karnataka. After Yeddyurappa's resignation, the Bharatiya Janata Party has chosen Basavaraj S Bommai as the leader of the MLA party. A meeting of the MLAs led by Central Supervisors was held in Bengaluru on Tuesday in which Bommai's name was sealed.

Basavaraj comes from the Lingayat community

Basavaraj Bommai started his political career with the Janata Dal and later became part of the Bharatiya Janata Party. They are B.S. Is believed to be close to Yeddyurappa. This is why he got an advantage in the race for the Chief Minister's post and his name was chosen.
