Bangkok factory blast kills one, injures 70: Airport evacuated

BANGKOK: A huge explosion ripped through a factory near Bangkok, Thailand. One person was killed and more than 70 were injured, some of them in critical condition.

The entire area has been evacuated following the blast. A terminal at a nearby airport has also been evacuated. The factory where the blast took place later caught fire, prompting evacuation of nearby residential areas for fear of toxic gas leaks.

At the same time, Afra Tafari was horrified following the explosion and fire at the nearby airport. Alerts were issued throughout the area and firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Several ambulances were also called in to help.

Many of the injured are in critical condition and are undergoing treatment at a hospital. A fire broke out late at night at a foam and plastic pallet manufacturing factory near Suvarnabhumi Airport in the southeastern part of Bangkok. One person was killed in the blaze, which broke out around 3 p.m.

The blast was so intense that the windows of nearby houses were shattered and debris fell on the road. The fire was contained for hours. The Sruthanik administration has announced assistance to those killed and injured. An inquiry into the incident has also been ordered.
