New Delhi: Amid the second wave of corona in Kerala and Maharashtra, the Center has issued an alert for 13 more new cases of Zika virus in Kerala. The central government has sent a team of experts to Kerala to review the situation.

The National Institute of Virology today declared 13 more samples from Kerala positive for Zika virus, bringing the total number of Zika virus cases in the state to 14. The first case of Zika virus was found in a 24-year-old pregnant woman yesterday.

The virus is transmitted from one person to another through mosquitoes. According to the Kerala government, a total of 19 samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune. Thirteen of the 19 samples tested positive for Zika virus. The symptoms of this disease are similar to those of dengue. A person suffering from Zika virus may have symptoms such as fever and joint pain.

Seventh variant of Corona has no case in India: Center

The central government had said that no case of lambda variants of SARS-Cove-2 has come to light in India. Union Health Secretary Love Agarwal said the government is currently monitoring the entire situation of the Indian SARS-Cove 2 Genomics Custom.

LAMBD is the seventh corona variant approved by the World Health Organization. In India, however, no case of this variant has been reported. In Peru, 80 percent of infections are of this variant. Cases of this variant have also been found in large numbers in many countries in South Africa.
