The Gupkar Association of Jammu and Kashmir's political parties has decided to attend a meeting convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 9. A meeting of the Gupkar organization was held in Srinagar on Tuesday at the residence of Farooq Abdullah, chairman of the National Conference and Gupkar organization, to decide on attending the all-party meeting of the Prime Minister. After the meeting, Farooq Abdullah said, "We will ask the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to restore the special status of Jammu and Kashmir to its former state."

The Prime Minister has convened an all-party meeting on Jammu and Kashmir on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, to which 12 major political parties of the Union Territory have been invited. "We will be present at the meeting convened by the prime minister," Farooq Abdullah said after the Gupkar leaders' meeting. After the meeting, we will talk to the media in Srinagar and Delhi. Our agenda to restore Jammu and Kashmir to its former state level status and re-enact Article 30 is well known and will remain so.

"We have the opportunity to present our case to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister," Gupkar's other leaders said. We will present our case to them. We will ask them for the same, which is unheard of. The leaders said they would not sign any papers and would not comment on Article 30.

Meanwhile, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has appealed for the release of political prisoners as soon as possible to boost confidence in the central government. . A total of seven political parties from Jammu and Kashmir are affiliated to the Gupkar organization. It has all the major parties, including the National Conference, the PDP. "We will discuss the PM's invitation," said Muzaffar Shah, leader of the Gupkar organization. At the same time 5A, 20 will also be discussed and a decision will be taken.

The Center has extended an invitation to leading leaders of 12 parties in Jammu and Kashmir to meet the Prime Minister on June 9. For the first time since the removal of Articles 20 and 2A from Jammu and Kashmir, the Union government is holding discussions with Jammu and Kashmir leaders. Local leaders of Ladakh have also been invited for the meeting with Prime Minister Modi. With two years to go since the removal of Article 50 from Jammu and Kashmir, there has been constant speculation that Jammu and Kashmir may regain full statehood or the electoral process may move forward. However, the issue of demarcation of Jammu and Kashmir will be discussed at the meeting convened by the Prime Minister, sources said.
