We don't have money to buy vaccines, central government gives: CMA of this state wrote a letter to PM Modi

Ranchi, Ta. 1 June 2021, Tuesday

The country is witnessing a second wave of corona, but tensions between the states and the central government over the corona vaccine remain high.

A number of states in the country are facing shortage of vaccines. The central government used to buy vaccines and send them to the states but the central government has recently given the responsibility of purchasing vaccines to the states. Now Jharkhand CM Hemant Sore has reached out to buy the vaccine. Soren has written a letter to PM Modi to give him a free vaccine.

"The state does not have the money to buy vaccines for people between the ages of 18 and 44," Soren wrote in the letter. This requires Rs 1,100 crore and the state is not in a position to manage that much. The central government buys the vaccine and gives it to the state government. Because if the state government alone bears the cost for this, the situation will get worse on the second front.

Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister P Vijayan has also written a letter to the CMs of 11 non-BJP states saying, "We should all come together and appeal for the central government to provide free vaccines." P. Vijay has also accused vaccine companies of taking advantage of the current situation to make a profit.
