Twitter's India interim official resigns


The appointment was made under the new IT rules

As per the rule applicable after June 25, the appointment was made for redressal of user complaints

New Delhi: Dharmendra Chatur, an interim officer appointed by Twitter India under the new Information Technology Rules, has resigned and some sources have confirmed the matter. Sources also said that Twitter had removed his name from the website.

The new IT As per the rules, social media companies, including Twitter, have been instructed to set up a grievance redressal mechanism for redressal of grievances of users or victims.

Every social media company with more than 50 lakh users is required to appoint an interim officer for redressal of grievances. The company will also have to publish the contact details of this officer. The controversy has come to the fore with the resignation of interim official Dharmendra Chatur amid ongoing controversy between the Indian government and Twitter India.
