This time too Amarnath Yatra will not be held, only symbolic Yatra will be held

Srinagar: Amarnath Yatra will not be held this year due to Corona epidemic. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided that only the symbolic Amarnath Yatra will be held, said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The three-day trek to Baba Barfani's cave at an altitude of 50 meters from two routes at Pahalgam and Baltal on June 7 begins. It ends on August 9. The trip was also canceled last year due to Corona. Sinha has instructed the authorities to ensure that the devotees can have a virtual darshan of the morning and evening Aarti. This will fulfill the desire of the devotees to see and they will not have to travel.

He said that all the traditional and religious ceremonies at Baba Barfani Dham will be performed as before. It is important to save people's lives. So it is not necessary to organize a yatra in the public interest this year.

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) respects the sentiments of millions of devotees. That is why devotees will be able to watch the morning and evening Aarti online at this holy cave, Sinha said. Sinha himself is also the chairman of the board.

The members of the Shri Amarnathji Sign Board discussed and decided to hold a symbolic yatra only, its official spokesperson said.

After the board meeting, the lieutenant governor held discussions with chief secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, DGP Dilbag Singh, chief home secretary Shaleen Kabra and lieutenant governor's chief secretary Nitishwar Mishra, who is himself the CEO of the Shrine Board.

Attendees at the meeting said that SASB has made arrangements so that devotees can watch their Aarti and Pooja on virtual platforms and on TV in the morning and evening, the spokesperson said.

The lieutenant governor stressed that it is necessary to follow the Kovid protocol on holy days like the first puja and the closing puja. He also stressed that Aarti and all other worship rituals at Amarnath cave should be performed within the procedure prescribed in the Kovid protocol.

The CEO of the board said that arrangements have been made for Lord Shiva to take the stick Mubarak to the holy cave by August 9. The journey ends on that day and the Rakshabandhan coincides with that day.

CEO Kumar said that the Aarti will be telecast live at 6 am and 5 pm. Both Aarti will be telecast live from its official website in the morning and evening and will also have a special app for the devotees.
