China dislikes US-Taiwan direct ties: Taiwanese start fleeing Hong Kong over Chinese harassment

Taipei: The United States has sent 2.5 million doses of the covid vaccine to Taiwan on humanitarian grounds. A consignment of 2.5 million doses produced by Moder arrived at Taipei Airport today. China does not like the US help to Taiwan.

China has long sent a message to the United States that it has no direct ties with Taiwan. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese government considers Taiwan as a part of China and controversies in this regard keep coming up from time to time.

Many Taiwanese nationals, on the other hand, have begun to leave Hong Kong because of the persecution of Taiwanese nationals in Chinese-ruled Hong Kong. A consignment of modern vaccines has arrived in China from the United States on a China Airlines cargo plane.

Taiwan's top US official Brent Christensen and Taiwan's Health Minister Shi-chung were present to welcome the shipment at Taipei Airport. The consignment shows the spirit of a trusted friend towards Taiwan, according to a Facebook post by Taiwan-based American diplomatic missions.

America's commitment to Taiwan as an international family of democracy can also be seen in this vaccine shipment. On the other hand, the Chinese government is also harassing Taiwanese employees working in the representative offices of the Chinese-ruled Hong Kong in various ways.

These citizens are being forced to sign documents and letters supporting China's claim to Taiwan, and employees who do not sign are being tortured and interrupted of duty. Which is why so many Taiwanese nationals are leaving Hong Kong.
