Teacher Eligibility Test Certificate Extended from Lifetime to Lifetime

There is good news for young people who want to become teachers. The Central Government has extended the validity period of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) from seven years to life. The Ministry of Education made this important announcement today regarding the Teacher Eligibility Test.

Today's decision by the Ministry of Education will benefit millions of young people who dream of getting a job as a teacher. The Ministry of Education further said that the concerned State Government or Union Territory Administration will take necessary steps to re-determine the validity period of TET or issue new certificates to the candidates or students whose certificates have expired for seven years. This system will be implemented from 2011.

Following this important announcement by the government, young people who want to become teachers will no longer have to take exams every seven years. This arrangement will be implemented across the country. Until now, the TET certificate was valid for seven years. If he did not get a job as a teacher during this period, he would have to retake the exam.

Announcing this, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the decision would provide many employment opportunities to the candidates who want to make a career in the field of education.

It is to be mentioned that TET examination has been made mandatory to become a teacher in the school. As per the guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) on February 11, 2011, the TET examination will be conducted by the state government and its validity will be seven years from the date of passing the examination.
