Talk about rubbing salt in my wounds - d'oh! Ambulance worth Rs 7 lakh was bought for Rs 21 lakh.

The mood on the political front is heating up in Bihar after the ambulance scandal broke out during the Koro period.

It has been claimed that an ambulance worth Rs 7 lakh has been purchased in Sivan district for Rs 21 lakh. Former MLA Viram Kunwar has also written a letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in this regard. After that, the district collector of Sivan formed a three-member committee to investigate.

The issue of shortage of ambulances was raised when people were flocking to Bihar for treatment in the second wave of Corona virus and now there is a scandal in ambulance procurement. Seven ambulances were reportedly purchased last year. The government paid Rs 21 lakh for an ambulance worth Rs 7 lakh.

This district is also the home district of the Health Minister of Bihar. An inquiry has now been ordered into the matter. Sources say the scam could lead to political turmoil in Bihar.

An ambulance was recently found falling from the office of BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Which was questioned by RJD leader Pappu Yadav. He was arrested a few days later on charges of violating the lockdown.
