Several sparks erupted in the interrogation of the MD of Twitter by the Delhi Police

New Delhi: BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra recently tweeted about the alleged Congress toolkit. Twitter then revealed it was manipulated media. Delhi Police has questioned Twitter MD Manish Maheshwari in the case.

According to sources, a team of Delhi Police had on May 31 traveled to Bangalore to interrogate Maheshwari over the matter. Government sources said the Delhi Police probe was showing a clear picture of Twitter India's relationship with the US-based company, as well as uncovering a complex web of corporate scams to mislead Indian law enforcement agencies.

Delhi Police had sent a notice to Twitter India seeking information as to why the character's tweet on the so-called Congress toolkit was tagged in the form of manipulated media. Top government sources said the decision to question the managing director of Twitter India was taken after Delhi Police received an abusive response to his notices.

Maheshwari told Delhi Police that despite being a senior official of Twitter India, he did not know much about the company's directors. He himself was informed of the organizational structure of Twitter India through records created by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Delhi Police is also surprised that despite having a senior company employee in the country, they know very little about their team.

Maheshwari said he reports to Singapore-based U Sasamoto on Twitter. Sasamoto became head of Twitter for Japan, South Korea and Asia Pacific on May 1 this year. He replaced Maya Hari.

Delhi Police sources made it clear that Maheshwari had admitted that he was reporting an employee of Twitter Asia Pacific, arguing that he was not affiliated with Twitter INC, which was clearly not true.
