Indian-origin Satya Nadella has been with Microsoft since 1992. In 2014, Steve Ballmore's Srutha made him CEO of the company. During his tenure, the company's stock increased sevenfold and its market cap reached close to લાખ 2 trillion.

Nadella's tenure as CEO was very successful. From cloud computing to mobile apps, he made projects of Artificial Intelligence a success. He also breathed new life into the office software franchise.

Pleased with his performance, the company gave him a more important position. The company's board elected Satya Nadella unopposed as chairman. Nadella will replace John Thompson.

The company has selected John Thompson as an independent director on the board. Satya Nadella, 53, joined Microsoft in 1992 as a technical staff member. As CEO in 2019, he was paid 4. 4.29 crore, or about Rs 316 crore.
